Brother Michael Andrejko, FSC, '86 Named Next Principal of Central Catholic High School
12.10.21
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I am pleased to announce that at the approval of Bishop David Zubik and Brother Robert Schaefer, FSC, the District of Eastern North America Provincial/Visitor, Brother Michael Andrejko, FSC, ’86 has been named the next Principal for Central Catholic High School. His ministry will formally begin July 1, 2022.
One of the hallmarks of a well-run school is the smooth transition of senior leadership. Since Central Catholic opened in 1927, a Brother has served as Principal. Throughout the remainder of the school year and through the end of June 2022, I will remain as Principal but will also be working closely with Bro. Mike during this time in preparation for next school year.
As many in the Central Catholic community are aware, three years ago I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder that has greatly affected my health at certain times. After consulting with my doctors and speaking with my Brother provincial, the Diocese of Pittsburgh and our Board chair, I will be stepping down as Principal of Central Catholic at the end of this school year on June 30, 2022. I plan to take some time to focus on my health as I await my next school and community assignment, which is yet to be determined.
It has been a privilege and an honor to be entrusted with the opportunity to educate and develop the young men at Central Catholic for these past 11 years. The first five as a teacher and coach, and most recently as Central's Principal. This second half of this school year will be bittersweet, as I am sad to be leaving this incredible community, but I know that I am leaving you in excellent hands. I know that Bro. Mike will carry on our Catholic and Lasallian mission of graduating Men of Faith, Men of Scholarship, and Men of Service.
Please join me in welcoming Bro. Mike back to his alma mater as the Principal. I invite you to read the full press release from the District of Eastern North America linked below.
Fraternally,
Brother Tony Baginski, FSC
Principal
