Central Teachers Receive National Recognition
Mr. William Lloyd and Mr. Matthew Sudnik Receive National Recognition.
Mr. William Lloyd, ’64, a history teacher from Central Catholic High School, and Mr. Matthew Sudnik, ’01, Director of the Baginski Scholars Program, have been selected as National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Summer Scholars from a national applicant pool to each attend one of 22 seminars and institutes. The Endowment is a federal agency that, each summer, supports these enrichment opportunities at colleges, universities, and cultural institutions so that teachers can study with experts in humanities disciplines.
Mr. Lloyd will participate in an interdisciplinary Institute entitled “A Reverence for Words: Understanding Muslim Cultures through Poetry & Song.” The two-week program will be held in New York, NY.
Mr. Sudnik will participate in an interdisciplinary Institute entitled "Mozart’s Worlds: The Marriage of Figaroand Don Giovanni." The three-week program will be held in Vienna, Austria, and directed by Dr. Richard Benedum, professor emeritus at the University of Dayton, OH.
