De La Salle Blackfeet School Immersion Trip
Ten students and two faculty moderators made the arduous journey from Pittsburgh to the Blackfeet Indian Reservation in Browning, MT.
Our 5th immersion group served at the De La Salle Blackfeet School in Browning, MT from September 28 – October 6. Ten students and two faculty moderators made the arduous journey from Pittsburgh to the Blackfeet Indian Reservation in Browning, MT. De La Salle Blackfeet School is a San Miguel School operated by the Christian Brothers that currently serves 70 students in grades 4-8. While at the school, Central students worked in pairs and spent the week assisting classroom teachers through tutoring and mentoring the students entrusted to their care. When not serving at the school, they explored the awe-inspiring scenery and hosted speakers from the Blackfeet Nation to learn more about Native American culture, history, and spirituality.
