Easter Message from Central Catholic President
April 20, 2025
Dear Central Catholic High School Community,
As we celebrate the Easter season, I would like to take a moment to extend my sincere best wishes to each member of our Central Catholic High School community. Whether you are a student, parent, faculty/staff member, or alumnus, I pray that this holy season of Easter brings you peace, joy, and the renewed strength to continue the journey of faith that unites us.
Easter is a time of new beginnings and transformation — a season in which we recall Christ’s ultimate sacrifice and the victory of life over death. In His resurrection, we find the profound truth that no matter the challenges we face, there is always the promise of new life, hope, and redemption. This Easter, we are called to reflect not only on the mystery of Christ’s resurrection but also on our own opportunity for growth.
For all of us in the Central Catholic community, Easter presents an opportunity to renew our commitment to the values that guide us as a Catholic, Lasallian institution. It is a time to reflect on the gift of our Catholic school education, which feeds our minds, bodies, and spirits, and a time to deepen our connection with God and one another. Here at Central Catholic, it is through daily prayer, reflection, and the many opportunities to serve one another and our community, that we remind ourselves and others that we are never alone, and that, because of God, we are given the strength to move forward in faith and love.
As we celebrate this joyous Easter season, I encourage all of us to pause and reflect on the blessings that surround us — our families, friendships, teachers, and school community. Let us remember that each day is a gift, and that by living with purpose and integrity, we can make a meaningful impact on the world. Just as Christ’s resurrection brought new life to the world, we too are called to live lives of transformation — not just for ourselves but for the benefit of others, in the service of God’s will.
Let us take this Easter as a reminder to be a light to others, sharing Christ’s love and compassion in every interaction. Whether through acts of service or simply being a friend to someone who just needs you to listen, we are called to mirror Christ’s love in all that we do. Easter reminds us that from death comes new life, and from our mistakes, grace can rise. Our mission is to live as stewards of Christ’s love, not just in the classroom but in every corner of our lives, through actions that reflect His love, kindness, and grace.
I would also like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to each member of our Central Catholic community — for the hard work, dedication, and faith that you bring to Central Catholic each day to those entrusted to our care. Together, we strive to create an environment in the Lasallian charism where academic excellence and spiritual growth can flourish. As faculty and staff, the Easter season provides an opportunity to remember the words of St. John Baptist de La Salle, “God has chosen you to make Him known to others.” As we enter the final stretch of the school year, let us continue to support each other, growing stronger as a family in Christ.
On behalf of our students, faculty, Christian Brothers community, and administration, I wish each of you a blessed and joyful Easter. May God’s love guide you always and may the peace of Christ be with you now and always.
In Christ’s love,
Matthew J. Stoessel, ’95
