​Environmental Club at Central Catholic

The Environmental Club at Central Catholic has accepted the Pope’s recent challenge in Laudato Si’ to care for creation, our “common home.” Following up on their recycling initiative success, the members of the club have attended the nationally renowned Green Schools Conference and Expo hosted in Pittsburgh, and most recently unveiled a community garden. We hope that the produce from the garden will benefit the poor and marginalized at food pantries and homeless shelters. Overall, the club strives to foster a dialogue of sustainability and environmental stewardship that takes into account the dignity of all creation.
