Kelly Gyurina
Kelly is a stay-at-home mom to three teenagers—one who is a Freshman at Central Catholic High School. She is working toward starting a non-profit that aims to provide peer support and education to youth struggling with mental health illness/challenges. She completed her certification in Mental Health First Aid for Youth and went on to complete her instructor training in October. Beginning in January 2023, Kelly will be partnering with Outreach Teen and Family Services in Mount Lebanon to offer MHFA-Y training in the community. She plans to offer the training to teachers/coaches throughout Pittsburgh, so that they can identify and assist any student who may be experiencing a mental health struggle/illness.
Title: Mental Health First Aid-Youth
Summary: Mental Health First Aid-Youth is a course that teaches adults how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders in young people. Trainees learn the skills needed to reach out and provide initial help and support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem or experiencing a crisis. This is an evidence-based program that started in Australia in 2000 and is now being taught by over 15,000 instructors in over twenty-five countries.
Alexandra Salerno
Alexandra is a Peak Performance Consultant at KPEX Consulting and has been in the field of psychology for 7+ years. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of PA, and she is certified by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC.) Alexandra received her master’s at the University of Pittsburgh and her undergraduate degree at Robert Morris University. She enjoys both consulting and clinical work, and has a passion for working with teens, adolescents, and children. Her consulting approach is holistic and developmental. Alexandra's goal is to help athletes to develop the skills to be successful not only in sport but in life.

Based in Pittsburgh, we travel the country to see athletes and students alike and support them in developing the mental toughness needed to perform in any situation.
