Steelers / WPIAL Honor Central Catholic
The "Wall of Champions" showcases WPIAL Champions, including Central Catholic High School.
On Thursday, August 28, the Pittsburgh Steelers, in partnership with the WPIAL, hosted an unveiling ceremony of the "Wall of Champions" prior to the kickoff of their pre-season game against the Carolina Panthers. The "Wall of Champions" showcases the past season's WPIAL champion in each of the four A-levels, starting with the 2013 season, and will be updated annually. The Wall also recognizes past champions chronologically, beginning with 2001, the first year that Heinz Field began hosting the WPIAL championship games. The display case commemorating Central Catholic's victory over Woodland Hills features a photograph of the team hoisting the Quad-A trophy on the field, the 2013 team photo and roster, Head Coach Terry Totten's photo, and a summary of the game from the Post-Gazette. Also on display is the #4 jersey that was worn in the game and also represents the fourth WPIAL championship for Central Catholic.
