Student Spotlight: Meet Cedric Ruffin, '18
If you have visited our Central Catholic campus store during the past two years, you've probably met our student store attendant, Cedric Ruffin, '18.
This year, we said farewell to Cedric and the rest of the Class of 2018 during our 88th annual commencement ceremony. Learn more about Cedric below.
Why did you choose to come to Central Catholic?
I chose to come to Central because I felt like I’d get a really good education. Since it’s an all boys school I wouldn’t be focused on girls and I’d be more into the books.
What activities were you involved in?
I was involved in track and the Black Student Union.
How long have you worked in the campus store?
I worked in the books store for two years. I started my junior year and worked there until the end of my senior year. Working in the book store was tough at first because I was trying to remember where everything was, but as time passed I got really good at it. I learned how to greet customers and also learned how to deal with money. It was such a great experience. I hope to do it again sometime.
Who is a teacher who has inspired you and why?
The teacher who inspired me the most is Mr.Brown. He’d always remind us about what to expect in life and tell us how to deal with it.
What is your favorite Central Catholic memory?
My favorite memory is being encouraged by my teachers and making honor roll.
What are your future plans?
My future plans are to get a good job that pays well and give back to the community.
What is your dream job?
My dream job is to become a forensic scientist.
What advice do you have for incoming students?
My advice would be to always think, learn, study and remember.
