Hometown High Q
Students who have an interest and expertise in a variety of subjects including literature, history, geography, music, pop culture, math or science are encouraged to join the Hometown High-Q team.
Students who have an interest and expertise in a variety of subjects including literature, history, geography, music, pop culture, math or science are encouraged to join the Hometown High-Q team. The team meets every Friday after school, where they watch past shows, and compete in practice questions with a buzzer system. Scores are kept each practice, and each player's progress is tracked throughout the year.
The team participate as one team of 3 players when competing on Hometown High-Q. Hometown High-Q is aired weekly at 11 a.m. Saturday mornings on KDKA-TV. The show runs for a half hour, and parents and friends of students are invited to the studio to watch the live tapings.
The Quiz Bowl Team meets every Friday after school.
