Central Catholic is offering Virtual Academic Enrichment Workshops throughout 2021. There is no charge to attend. These workshops are intended for students and parents of current 7th and 8th grade boys.

Crafting the Essay: Writing with Clarity, Style and Purpose
Have some nerves or curiosity about the expectations of high school writing? If so, this academic enrichment lesson could be for you! In this 30-minute session, Mr. Kurt Retenauer, '08, English Teacher, will cover and the basics of a five-paragraph essay and how to write with clarity, style, purpose, and most importantly: confidence.

Fractals: How math, nature, and design create exciting patterns
This workshop led by Mr. Adam Kronebusch, Math & Engineering Dept. Chair, explores self-repeating patterns called fractals. These interesting designs appear in nature and can be explained using the language of mathematics. Students will get an opportunity to create their own fractals and see how iteration becomes a useful tool in geography and video game creation.
