Central Catholic Announces New Head Baseball Coach
PITTSBURGH - Central Catholic High School welcomes Brad Bestic, a dedicated leader who upholds Lasallian values, to lead as the new head baseball coach of the Vikings. Bestic is committed to instilling character and building the essence of sportsmanship in the players entrusted to his care. Having coached previously at Vincentian Academy -- where he won both a Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) Championship and Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL) title as head coach -- Knoch High School, and Saint Joseph High School, respectively, Bestic comes to Central Catholic via Seton LaSalle Catholic High School, where he has two WPIAL Championships under his belt. Bestic brings a winning tradition to the Central Catholic that he plans will elevate the team’s performance moving forward. The school community is buzzing with excitement as he laid out his vision to the team for the first time Friday. “I am humbled and honored to be chosen as the next leader of the Baseball program,” said Bestic. “I look forward to working alongside everyone associated with the program, including the administration, players, parents, and boosters.”
His disciplined approach to the game and molding student-athletes to be better men, is part of his strategy to inspire athletes both on and off the field, “We will be in relentless pursuit of greatness while being mindful of the values associated with our institution.”
“With his extensive background in Catholic schools, Coach Bestic is the ideal choice to lead a Catholic institution like our baseball program. His experience and dedication to our shared values align perfectly with Central Catholic’s mission,” said Principal Jack Wallace. “His appointment strengthens an already outstanding athletics department, and we are confident that he will continue to build a program that reflects our commitment to faith, scholarship, and service.”
As the season approaches, the hopes of students and faculty alike are high, believing that under his guidance, victory is within reach.
